Originally from Evansville, Indiana, David elected to attend the University of Dayton in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Marketing after graduating from high school. His sports career began in 2006 while attending the University of Dayton. He volunteered as a Sports Marketing Intern at the university and was the leader of the Red Scare Student Organization during his tenure. While at Dayton, David was in charge of creating and implementing marketing plans for the baseball and women's basketball teams. He also lead the Red Scare executive board which oversaw 1,200 plus student members and assisted with event operations at A-10 and NCAA Championship events.
Upon graduating in 2009, David elected to take a year off of school and took a job back home as the Director of Athletic News Media for the University of Evansville Athletic Department. While there, David was in charge of producing and managing Aces TV/Internet streaming access, which generated a revenue of over $8,000.
In 2010, David elected to take Graduate Assistant position at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursuing a M.B.A./M. Ed. in Sports Leadership. While at VCU, David was put in charge of creating marketing plans for the men's soccer program, increasing attendance by over 34% from previous years. Additionally, David assisted in athletic event operations, athletic fundraising activities, and selling corporate partnerships to local companies.
Following the completion of his Master's, David moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to work for the University of North Carolina as a Sports Marketing Assistnat. While there, he was placed in charge of directing marketing functions for volleyball, gymnastics, baseball, and women's volleyball. Additionally, David coordinated the football pregame fan zone, "Tar Heel Town," and administered the GoHeels.com newsletters.
David started working for BGSU Athletics in 2013 as a Promotions Assistant. In 2014, he was promoted to the Director of Marketing and Promotions position and has held this title for three years now. His job duties include: creating a student marketing internship program and hiring student workers, overseeing twenty plus undergraduate interns, managing the marketing budget, increasing fan attendance, overseeing 18 sports activities and marketing plans, and coordinating with several organization to improve student engagement and attendance at all sports. David has a love for sports and has continued his willingness to work with others, sharing his experiences in sports along the way.
