Today I continued working on gathering contact information for local school/churches and sent the updated document off to David to send to coaches and the ticketing office. We also discussed the budget constraints BGSU has when it comes to spending money on promotional items. BGSU has an overall budget of $38,000 to spend for all sports. These funds are allocated based upon season, sport, and previous attendance results from prior years. Football receives the most money to have spent on promotional items, however, they only receive $8,000 to use across the entire season to attempt to sellout the stadium at every home game. It became very clear to me just how difficult Theby's job was, given the small budget he has to work with. After our discussion ended, I started working on the Men’s Basketball Marketing Plan and researching new promotional ideas for basketball games.
